Walnuts Can Treat Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease

Walnuts are so rich in ingredients that have the potency to beat several lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular problems. As per a study, there are heavenly increasing in India.

Director Carol Berg Sloan, California Walnut Commission Health Research told PTI. With reference to multiple studies and human experiments performed over 11 countries by around 60 universities. They added walnuts in daily meals while assuring proper amount of protein intake, particularly among vegetarians.

Since, it consists of various minerals and vitamins entailing unsaturated fat, protein, unsaturated fat, phosphorus, magnesium, and alpha-linolenic acid.  ALA is the plant-based form of Omega-3, essential for complete wellness.

As per a research conducted at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; an ounce of walnuts offers two grams of fiber and four grams of protein.

The study further found out that plant foods are enriched with this fiber. It supports one to feel full thus helps in controlling overeating habits. Further, it results in cholesterol-lowering while regulating glucose levels of blood.

Sloan said that as per government data, in India 29.8 million men and women are suffering from obesity, majorly in urban areas.  However, other lifestyle diseases such as cardiovascular disorders and diabetes are also increasing rapidly.

She continued “We hope to conduct human trials in India in 2020, addressing issues that are ailing the country. We will tie-up with universities or research institutes for conducting independent trials in the country. For this, we expect to send proposals next year”.

Thereby, in order to cope with our omega 3 and other necessary requirements, we should add walnuts in our daily diet plans.
