“We couldn’t have asked for a better response to series four and the impact it had with young audiences. This move will also give BBC2 more creative headroom to experiment with new drama.”

One thing is confirmed that Cillian Murphy will return to play the role of Tommy Shelby. Other returning cast members are Arthur Shelby as Paul Anderson, Michael Gray as Finn Cole, Ada Thorne as Sophie Rundle, Jack Rowan as boxer Bonnie, Aidan Gillen as Aberama Gold and Polly Gray as Helen McCrory.
