Fast and Furious is one of the most watched action-thrill movies. The Franchise brought the first movie in 2001 when people were watching movies through the video player. Now we are in the 21st Century and a lot has changed. In 2001, Male characters were dominant, but it is Michelle Rodriguez who is seeking for a dominant female role in the movie.

Fast and Furious 9 will bring some change not only in the cast but also in the script.  Michelle Rodriguez actress was a part of the first film of this franchise but she skipped the next film. She made a come back in Fast & Furious 6 and from that movie, she proved how important she was for the Franchise, story and other cast members.

After working for many installments of Franchise, Michelle got a strong position, and now she wants that the story will bring a strong female character. There must be an equal male and female role in the movie. She doesn’t want to sit in the backseat of the car anymore. She wants to take control of the steering wheel like another male actor.

The producers of the Fast & Furious 9 agree to add a female writer in the production team. They are recognized that a female writer will provide the script. At this moment, we don’t know who that female writer is. After the hire of this new female writer, Michelle Rodriguez, joined the cast of Fast and Furious 9.

“I felt like there was not enough of a female voice in the franchise,” Rodriguez shared at the Bloomberg Future of Equality Summit in London. “You should evolve with the times, not just pander to certain demographics that are stuck” in the past.

It is vital for the female filmmaker to be a part of the production, and another important thing is to have a better presentation of female characters in the upcoming movie. The actress also joked that she wanted to see a change in the film from male-dominant characters to female-dominant ones.

While it was for a female filmmaker to get involved in the production, the actress previously hinted that it was also crucial for the female characters to be better represented.

“I don’t know if I’m coming back. I have to read the script first. Once I read the script, I’ll know,” Rodriguez shared with Vanity Fair. “When I read the script—and I hope that it’s inclusive—then I’ll agree to come back or not.”

In the Fast and Furious 9, you won’t be able to see Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as they have officially announced that they are not the part of the cast. However, you can see them both in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, which is going to release on July 26, 2019.

As the cast of the upcoming movie is reaching at its final stages, we will see its new trailer soon. Fast & Furious 9 will hit the Cinemas on April 10, 2020.  Are you happy to Michelle again in the upcoming movie? Share your comments now.
