None can deny the fact that Jane Fonda, an American icon is still fantastic and looks stunning.

However, the Oscar-winning activist and actress, who also came up with a workout video empire (and notably fought bulimia for much of her younger life), confesses that her looks are not an absolute result of good luck and good genes.

In the latest HBO documentary named Jane Fonda in Five Acts about her life, she told: “I’m glad I look good for my age, but I’ve had plastic surgery,” she further added: “I’m not going to lie about that.”

In the past as well, she openly talked about the reasons she did work on her jawline and eyes. “I got tired of looking tired when I wasn’t,” she also told that she didn’t like to do it, in the documentary.

“On one level, I hate the fact that I’ve had the need to alter myself physically to feel that I’m OK,” she added. “I wish I wasn’t like that. I love older faces. I love lived-in faces. I loved Vanessa Redgrave’s face.”

She said, “I wish I was braver. But I am what I am.”

Since the way she maintains her incredible figure, a pilates fan, Fonda, shared that she also works out. “Just more slowly now,” she added.

She gave credit to good posture, in order to maintain a younger look,  “When I stand up straight, it’s a whole different thing,” she told. The star of Grace and Frankie also agreed the fact that age is duly nothing more than a number: “Your age is less chronological and more attitudinal,” she said.
