it is important that sleep is very essential and important to maintain a healthy and normal weight. The lake of sleep can lead to weight gain. What happened if you are not getting close to 8 hours of sleep per night?

The hormone called cortisol in your blood will increase and this hormone is responsible for storing fat. Therefore, as your cortisol level go up because of lack of sleep. You will gain weight. Another thing that will happen if you are having a healthy sleep or a lot of sleep. It will also low down your willpower to make healthy choices.

If you are exhausting during the day, that piece of candy looks a lot more attractive. And you feel that you deserve it and so you are more likely to eat it. So, it’s very imperative to have some sufficient hours of sleep. And normally a healthy sleep requires at least 8 hours of sleep per night. As it is the part of a healthy lifestyle to help not just lose weight. But you can also maintain your healthy weight.

So all you know that the lack of sleep can direct to more weight. People who suffer from obesity typically don’t get a good night’s sleep. And one of the main reason for this is something called sleep “Apnea”. When you are overweight you can have sleep apnea. And what happens is that while you are sleeping you actually stop breathing for periods of time. Therefore, this leads to dangerously low oxygen saturation.

And then you wake up in the morning you are just not feeling as well rested. You are also wake up with a bad headache. So, being overweight definitely affects the quality of sleep. Studies have shown that when you don’t get enough sleep the hormones ghrelin and leptin are out of whack. When ghrelin is high and leptin is low, it is the perfect formula for weight gain. What you need to do to avoid this, is regulate your hormones by getting enough sleep.

It’s a vicious cycle. Lack of sleep also ruins your metabolism thus leading to more weight gain. Thus poorer sleep thus worse apnea and the cycle continue. It’s horrible. A CPAP machine, some exercise, clean diet and 6-8 hours of solid sleep should alleviate this after a year or so.
