If you are a person who likes to do multitasking while playing games, writing content, and editing videos, then you don’t mind giving a try to latest dual-screen laptops. At Computex 2019, top electronic brands introduced double-screen laptop models.

When other brands are still working on the dual-screen notebook, it is the HP which launches HP Omen X 2S- which is the world’s first dual-screen laptop you can buy right now. Today, I would like to share the details of this model alongside some great concepts. Let’s find out what I have for you.

PC with Foldable Display (Lenovo Thinkpad X)

Lenovo is working on a foldable display PC. A development team is working on this project, and it might be released by 2020. Company doesn’t reveal its name, but what we know is that this device will be a member of Lenovo ThinkPadX1 family.

This machine will come with a single display which can be folded at the center. A user is able to hold the device and make it travel-friendly.  It can be used as a laptop, notebook, and book.

However, there is a big problem Lenovo needs to address is that there is a crease in the center of the screen.  Another issue which a user might face is looking for an external keyboard.  You won’t enjoy great typing experience with the wireless keyboard while detachable keyboards are very difficult to use.

Intel Twin River

Intel introduced this dual-screen laptop at Computex 2019. It is featured with a full-1080p IPS panel.  The 12.3-inch twin screen comes with a 3:2 aspect ratio. This twin screen would allow you to view a document with great precision and clarity. Even your web browsing experience would be more delightful than before. This complete laptop got a fabric cover wrap which is made of polyester, polyamide, and lycra.

There is a hinge which separates both screens. The main disadvantage of this twin display laptop is that its second display doesn’t offer much room for the keyboard. Another issue which you might face is heat management, as the machine requires double power to run twin displays.  Intel has to work on its battery life issue as well.

Asus Zenbook Pro Duo

It is a laptop having a partial dual screen with a keyboard. This machine is featured with two displays where one main display is a 15.6-inch  OLED panel while the second one is 14-inch 4K display. You can find a smaller display on the top of the device keyboard. Asus’s ErgoLife Hinge separates both displays. This hinge allows you to set second display according to your viewing angle.

HP Omen X 2S

Last month, HP launched HP Omen X 2S , which is the first dual-screen gaming laptop all over the world. It is featured with a standard 15-inch display while its second display is 6-inch 1080p touchscreen above the keyboard. This device would help you do multitasking when you are playing. For example, if you like to play a youtube video, then you can do this simply from your secondary screen.

It is said that 82 percent of people use their mobile phone during gaming sessions. Some use it for texting while others browse the website and video content.  There is no need to get distracted by your mobile phone when you can do chatting and streaming right from your laptop. You can play youtube video on your screen, send message to your friend on, and handle other tasks.

Double-screen is not the single plus of HP Omen X 2S. It is the first laptop which has an applied liquid metal compound to the thermal system from Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. According to  according to HP, this compound results in “phenomenal heat dissipation at 10 times the thermal conductivity of silicon thermal grease.”

It means that this First Dual-Screen Laptop HP Omen X 2S won’t get heat-up. This device will keep cool, so it boosts up the gaming performance. The price of the HP Omen X 2S laptop is £2,499. Its sale will begin from next month.

Intel Honeycomb Glacier

Another amazing concept has an angled second screen with a keyboard. This design is better with a split screen model because you can change the viewing angle of the second screen at your eye level. It is designed with a standard 15.6-inch 1080p display while the secondary display is 12.3-inch automotive infotainment panel. Screen gets separated via Tobii eye-tracking tech, so you can switch easily.

This  device will make your gaming experience very delightful as you can play the game on the full display while the second display will let you watch twitch streams, explore guides or walk-through videos.

The main problem with this laptop is that it is not travel-friendly. You might experience heat and battery life issues with it.

Conclusion

As you can see, top electronic brands are planning to launch dual-screen laptops, which will soon replace your standard single screen laptops. There are some issues related to these designs which brands need to address before their final release. HP is the first who has figured out all those issues and launch its device. But we can review this first dual-screen laptop of the world only when we have our hands on it. The sale will begin in the upcoming month.
