All those who feel like an outsider, it has become an anthem. “Scars to Your Beautiful” of Alessia Cara is a demonstration of self-love, care, and acceptance. The singer said that being a young artist she transformed herself as much as her fan.

She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she doesn’t see the light that’s shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
‘Cause cover girls don’t cry after their face is made.

Cara said “I’ve had people come out to me for the first time, like, saying, you know, ‘I am gay and I’ve never said that out loud,”.

“And for them to feel safe enough to tell me that, through a song of mine, is, like, unbelievable.”

The potent message she has empowered through the platform of singing is indeed an act of appreciation.

This is the reason her music, particularly with millennial, is that much striking.

Moreover, she is recognized as the only Grammy-winning artist who lives with her family in the same home in Ontario.

“I grew up here,” she said, showing correspondent Lee Cowan her childhood bedroom, where she still writes some of her songs.”

Even her fans are familiar with her bedroom that consists of some cameos over her work. In her YouTube videos, it is also the nearest behind her. At that place, she usually uploaded her songs.

“If you watch them back, you can see some clothes hanging in the background, and really dim lighting – it was in here!”

In fact, she also developed a make-shift studio in her basement. However, among all spots of her home wherein, she could compose her newer work. Her bathtub seclusion was her favorite.

Cowan said, “God I wish I sounded that good in the bathroom”.

Cara told, “I think everybody can. That’s the trick of the bathroom!”.

Apart from the reason that therein sounds are good and audible she further told:

“I feel less distracted, and I feel it’s a little safe environment to do whatever I want, and no one’s around, and it just feels cozy.”

She brought up in an Italian-Canadian family. By profession, her father is a welder while her mom is a hairdresser. (weddingful.com)

Since childhood, she was fond of singing and much inspired by the camera. Her voice gets beautiful and melodious as she grew up. In terms of confidence, she also improved with her growing age.

“The idea of singing for them, seriously, was such a scary thing, ’cause you know, it’s your parents!  You don’t want ’em to think you’re weird!”.
